Sophia Alsept, 84, Rowdy passed away Saturday, November 19, at the Hazard Hospital. She was an avid quilter and a member of the Kentucky River Area Quilt Makers. She attended the Little Buckhorn Mennonite Church. She was the widow of the late Jack Alsept and the daughter of the late Willie and Maudie Sparkman Sawyer. She was also preceded in death by one daughter-in-law, Agnes Alsept; seven brothers, Woodrow Sawyer, Edjel Sawyer, JC Sawyer, Charles Eddie Sawyer, Bill Sawyer, Tom Sawyer, Teb Sawyer; two sisters, Helen Terry, Lizzie Jane Wooten. She is survived by four sons, Joe Alsept, Ronnie(Judy) Alsept, Wayne Alsept, Jack Jr.(Sharon) Alsept; two daughters, Shelia(Donnie) White, Sharon(Gene) Wattenberger; one brother, Homer(Wilma) Sawyer, Wanda(Bob) Parker, Sadie Ritchie; twelve grandchildren, thirty great grandchildren, one great great grandchild. Visitation Tuesday, November 22, 11AM. Funeral Tuesday, November 22, 1PM with Rev. Eldon Miller officiating. Burial in the White Family Cemetery at Rousseau.
