Elsie Howard, 94, passed away Monday, July 17 in Ft Wayne, IN. She was born in Breathitt County on August 24, 1922 to the late William and Millie Trent King. She was the widow of the late Arnett Howard. She was also preceded in death by her son, Darrell Howard; six sisters, Priscilla Smith, Minnie Graham, Bertha Woodrey, Golden King, Pearl Combs, Rosa Lee King; eleven brothers, Taylor, Calloway, Ernest, John, George, Harold, Junior, William, Arnold, Herman, Henry. Elsie was a homemaker who was a wonderful cook. She enjoyed sewing, quilting and gardening. Planting a garden each year until this year. She is survived by two daughters, Patricia Easterday, Deborah Howard; five grandchildren, Mark Easterday, Angela Howard, Jennifer Jones, Lisa Howard and Tammy Flennery; eight great grandchildren as well as many step-grandchildren. Visitation Saturday, July 22, 12:00 PM. Funeral Saturday, July 22, 2:00 PM with Rev. Dennis Creech officiating. Burial in the Tyra Cemetery at Frozen.
