Breathitt Funeral Home was established in
1957 by Frank Fletcher and his wife, Joy Allen Fletcher.
The funeral home was located on Main Street until 1967
when Frank and Joy built the current funeral home on
Hwy. 15. In 2001 Matthew Hollins and Eugene Turner
purchased the funeral home.
Matthew is a graduate of MidAmerican College of Mortuary
Science. Matthew and his wife, Lisa and children, Nick
and Amy moved to Breathitt County from Perry County in
1996 to work at Breathitt Funeral Home as a licensed
funeral director and embalmer.
Eugene and his wife, Vonda and children, Kristi and Ryan
are lifelong residents of Breathitt County. Eugene began
working at the funeral home part-time in 1976 while
employed by Falcon Coal Company. He later became a
full-time employee and licensed funeral director.
